Case Example of Levene's Statistic Test of Homogeneity of Variance A researcher wants to know whether the sales average for both Samsung and Lenovo mobile phone brands is Homogeny or not Homogeny.
If the p-value for the Levene test is greater than .05, then the variances are not significantly different from each other (i.e., the homogeneity assumption of the variance is met). If the p-value for the Levene's test is less than .05, then there is a Significant difference between the variances.
With a p value < .05 as in your case, the null hypothesis of equal group variances would be rejected at the .05 alpha (significance) level. We would say the Levene test is statistically Bartlett's test (Snedecor and Cochran, 1983) is used to test if k samples have equal variancesGuide Or Tutorial Homogeneity Test (Bartlett's Test Or Bartlett Homogeneity of variance is assessed using Levene's Test for Equality of Variances. In order to meet the statistical assumption of homogeneity of variance, the p-value for Levene's Test should above .05. If Levene's Test yields a p-value below .05, then the statistical assumption of homogeneity of variance has been violated.
